They include the tertiary level management of condition-specific presentations, as WebSixty-seven percent of the hospitals' acute pain management programs were created during the past 5 yr, 31% during the past 2 yr, and 17% in the past year. Of the 300 hospitals surveyed, 243 (81%) of the pain management directors and/or chiefs of anesthesiology reported the trend that pain management consultation is increasing in incidence.
